The Last Super ( Pascal Deloche/Godong/Corbis, 2012)

By J. B. Fagoyinbo

You are destined to live the rest of your working life in Baghdad. You have two offers to take you there; (i) by the son of the current Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi, assuring you of  residence and work permit, and  safe habitation in his neighbourhood and movement; and (ii) by a friend who has no knowledge of Baghdad but thinks that he can assist you to seek for residence permit despite the fact he is not sure of his own permit.

“Jesus saith … I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6)and again He declared “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also” (John 14:2-3).

Will you rather go to settle in Baghdad with your friend who has no knowledge of the place and is unsure of himself? Or will you stake your life with the son of the Prime Minister?

Jesus declares “I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

You are included in the “They”.

He is patiently waiting.
